Applying for Grants & Scholarships

GRANTS

The Main Street Community Foundation of Connecticut welcomes grant requests from organizations that serve our geographic area, which includes Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington and Wolcott. Due to the challenging economy, we will be making some changes in our 2010 grant process, guidelines and application.

Interested organizations are asked to contact Jarre Betts, Director of Programs & Community Relations before applying to discuss the proposal and process. Materials needed for the grant application process will be available to download from this site.

March 31, 2010 is the deadline for applications for grants from the James R. Parker Trust. Grants are made from the James R. Parker Trust at the foundation to charitable organizations that serve Burlington residents. The guidelines and proposal summary sheet are available in the download forms section.

March 31, 2010 is the deadline for applications for grants from the Plainville Community Fund. Grants are made from the Plainville Community Fund at the foundation to charitable organizations that serve the residents of Plainville. The guidelines and the proposal summary sheet are available in the download forms section.

March 31, 2010 is the deadline for the competitive grant cycle. This year, letters of intent are being requested for funding consideration. The form and instructions are available in the download forms section.

September 30, 2010 is the deadline for the Women & Girls’ Fund. Grants are made from the Women & Girls’ Fund at the foundation to organizations serving females of any age in the towns of Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington and Wolcott. The process, guidelines and application will be posted by July 1, 2010.

SCHOLARSHIPS

A list of scholarships available to individuals pursuing educational opportunities in a variety of areas and at different stages of their academic career are listed in our Scholarship Directory for Spring 2010 which is available to download from this site. The majority of the scholarships use our common application form unless stated in the Directory. The common application form is available to download from this site.

The 2010 deadline is Wednesday, March 31, 2010 for most scholarships but there are a few exceptions so please check the Directory for those scholarships that have an earlier deadline.
